Fall on the Farm Photography Meetup - Ballston Spa - 11.00am - 2 hours
I am lucky enough to have access to a one time small family farm just outside of Ballston Spa. The property contains some old rusty vehicles, a barn, an old farm house, a hand water pump and a nice tree line that should be very colorful at the time of the meet -up. The owners were nice enough to allow to to have the meet up there, so the group will be expected to be gracious and respectful of the property.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations around Albany.

New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Albany Photography Facebook Group here to share your photos after the session.

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions

We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Stay home if you're sick.
Keep 6 feet away from others.
Don't make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical greetings, such as handshakes, hugs and kisses.
Wash your hands regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a flexed elbow or a tissue.

I can?t wait to join another meet-up with like-minded people and our instructor, Brian Van Sise. He taught us how to get the most out of our cameras and also encouraged us to explore subjects and scenes in unique ways. It was a great experience!

I thought it was a very chill atmosphere where you had an opportunity to ask questions and shoot freely with your camera. Kes was very helpful with explaining what we were looking for and very knowledgeable when questions were asked.

Tour was outside. Seeing real life unfold. While talking about composition, giving examples of it. Angles vs straight on. Working your own camera for shutter speed, light, focus. Taking only 1 or 2 shots, not 25 of the something.

It was fabulous. Instructor was professional but approachable, knew his stuff, and easily changed gears to give info to all of us at very different levels of knowledge as well as very different cameras. Great ideas and challenges presented. Perfect amount of loose structure but organized ideas.
